Cuz it looks like a lot of fun. There are similar type festivals like Eeyore's Birthday in Austin and Oregon Country Fair in umm.... Oregon. Really these are excuses to jump out of your routine for a spell with or without the use of medicinal-type aids. I personally prefer without. Blow your excuses for [INSERT ACTION HERE] out your a[BLEEP]s.
Imagine an interactive Bread and Puppet .
Go party-plan and invite me when you're finished. My summer of 2009 is wide open.

Hey, remember when I was all jazzed about running Ubuntu on my PC? Dual-booting XP and Ubuntu to be exact? I'm still wickit excited about it. I'd hoped to do more with music, but apparently my crappy Celeron processor doesn't have the beef to run things all that smoothly without massive tweaks. I was able to get my PC version of Propellerheads' slicey tool Recycle to run through the Windows emulator Wine a few times and still got dreams of integrating my OS X Pro Tools LE setup with Ubuntu Studio.
That said, my little Ubuntu-flavored linux box has served me well as the production server of my dreams for web development. Installation was a breeze (Synaptic, friends, Synaptic. It's apt for newbs like you and me)- GUI and everything. Step-by-step setup. The LAMP installer in Synaptic gave me everything I needed- Apache, Mysql, PHP, and even PhpMyAdmin for when the command line is too scary.
[shouting] NERD!
